Red queen dynamics. Red-queen theory suggests zero-sum outcome of interactions between competing species. For example two antagonists can engage in evolutionary arms-race to out-compete each other, but they are never able to do so. In this image different colours represent change in interacting partners, but at the interface of the two partners colour always remain same.
